Payment Plan or Pay in Full? How to Decide
Payment plans nearly always cost more. Here is how to work out whether the premium is worth paying.
Do the subtraction first
Sales pages show the monthly figure because it converts better. Multiply it out.
| Option | Advertised | Total | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pay in full | $2,497 | $2,497 | — |
| Plan | 6 x $497 | $2,982 | $485 more |
When the plan is right
When paying once would leave you without a buffer. Spreading cost so a bad month does not become a crisis is worth real money, and that is what the premium buys.
When it is not
When you have the full amount and take the plan out of habit. That is around a tenth of the product price for no benefit.
Three questions before choosing a plan
- If you refund in month two, do the remaining instalments stop?
- If a payment fails, does access pause or end?
- Is content delivery identical on both options, or staggered to match instalments?
