The niches, and the reasoning behind the order
The training leads with personal development and covers making money online second. That ordering is a deliberate judgement and it is worth understanding whether you follow it or not.
Why not lead with making money online
Every beginner arrives at that subject first, which is what makes it the hardest place to arrive. The commissions are the largest available and so is the number of people already publishing about them, to readers who have encountered the identical argument repeatedly.
The subject itself is fine. What is difficult is entering it with nothing yet to point at, against competitors who have years of published work and results behind them.
What personal development has instead
| Property | Why it matters for a newcomer |
|---|---|
| Many distinct subcategories | Room to be specific without being obscure |
| Very large audience | Far more people want to improve something than want to start a business |
| Lower saturation per subcategory | You are not competing with established names on day one |
| Content you can sustain | Two years of talking about habits is easier than two years of talking about marketing before you have results |
The connection between the two
They are the same audience at different moments. Someone working on focus and discipline is frequently the same person who later wants to build an income, which means building in the first niche puts you in front of them before they arrive at the second question.
What "saturated" actually means
Not that a subject is full. It means the obvious angles are taken and the general version of the topic is answered well already.
There is almost always room underneath that for something specific - one situation, one constraint, one kind of person. Saturation is a statement about the broad topic, and nobody builds an audience on a broad topic anyway.
How to choose your own
- Can you make a hundred pieces of content about it? If you run out at thirty, it is too narrow or you do not know it well enough yet.
- Do people buy things in it? An audience with no commercial ecosystem caps you regardless of size.
- Would you still find it tolerable in month six? This decides survival more than any market analysis.
The mistake in choosing a niche purely on commission size
High-paying niches are high-paying because demand is strong, and strong demand attracts the most capable competitors. A newcomer with no advantage there is competing directly with people who have been publishing for years.
Narrowing beats switching. Not personal finance, but personal finance for one specific situation - same commercial value per person, far less competition, and a clearer reason for anyone to follow you rather than someone larger.
Whether to follow the training's choice
Follow it if you have no strong preference, because the reasoning holds. Depart from it if you have genuine knowledge of something else with a commercial audience - that advantage is worth more than the niche selection.
