Before You Buy

What the form takes, and what follows

Registration asks for an email address. Nothing else, and no payment details at any point. What matters is what happens to that address afterwards, which is a fair thing to want set out before you type it.

What is collected

An address, and typically a first name for the messages. That is the whole form. Any page requesting card details in exchange for a free workshop is not a registration page, and that single test rules out the entire category of imitations.

What arrives

The frequency rises as the launch progresses and stops when the launch does. That pattern is standard and it is worth expecting rather than being surprised by.

How long it lasts

The intensive part runs for the fortnight around the sessions. Afterwards it settles to occasional contact, and the unsubscribe link sits at the foot of every message.

Using it costs nothing and carries no consequence. Anyone hesitant about registering should know the exit is one click and always visible.

Whether a secondary address is a good idea

It is the instinct, and here it works against you. The registration exists to deliver time-critical reminders about events happening on fixed dates, and a filtered inbox is exactly where those go unread.

If you want the address separated afterwards, the cleaner approach is to register with your real one and unsubscribe once the launch closes. You get the reminders when they matter and the list access ends when you decide.

The practical advice on which address to use

One you read daily. Session reminders arrive there, and the most common way people miss a live workshop they intended to attend is a reminder landing in an inbox they check weekly.

A dedicated address for signups defeats the purpose here, because the thing you registered for is time-bound.

What happens to the address afterwards

It stays on the list unless you remove it, and contact drops to occasional once the launch ends. That is the normal arrangement and it is worth stating rather than leaving people to guess.

If you would rather not carry that, unsubscribe the day after the cart closes. You will have had everything the registration was for by then, and nothing about doing so affects anything you bought.

What registering does not commit you to

Attending, buying, or replying. It is a list, not an obligation, and no part of the arrangement changes if you register and never turn up.

The one thing to do immediately after

Put the three dates in your calendar - 14-15 September, 19-20 September and 22 September - before doing anything else. Registration without calendar entries is how people end up watching the launch happen without attending any of it.
