The full price of a free seat

No money and no card details. What it does cost is an address, a sequence of messages for a fortnight, and an evening per session. Stated plainly because that is the whole trade.

What the form takes

An email address and usually a first name. There is a mobile number field on the members page marked optional, and optional means optional.

No payment details at any stage. A page asking for a card in exchange for a free session is not the registration page, and that single test rules out the entire category of imitations that appear during a launch week.

Frequency rises as the fortnight progresses and stops when the launch does. That pattern is standard and worth expecting rather than being annoyed by.

Registering per session, which surprises people

Four sessions, four registrations. Each runs once, so each is its own event. Signing up for one does not put you in the others.

People who register for session 1 and assume they are booked for all four miss three of them, and that is the most common administrative mistake of any launch.

How to leave

The unsubscribe link is at the foot of every message and using it carries no consequence. If you would rather not carry the list afterwards, unsubscribe the day after the cart closes — by then you have had everything registration was for.

Which address to use

One you read daily. The instinct is a secondary address, and here it works against you: the whole point of registering is time-critical reminders about events on fixed dates, and a filtered inbox is exactly where those go unread.

The cost nobody lists

Attention afterwards. Material that lands stays with you and shapes the next decision, which is what a good session is supposed to do. Knowing that in advance is not cynicism, it is just being awake during it.
