Telling the official site from everything else

Worth ten seconds before you enter card details anywhere, and here is the whole method. It applies to any online purchase, not only this one.

Stating it plainly because it is the first thing you should want to know. beforeyoubuy is an independent site that runs checks on things before people buy them, and it earns a commission if you buy through its links. That disclosure is on every page.

The four signals of an official checkout

1. The domain, read letter by letter. Not glanced at - read. Transposed characters and extra hyphens are the entire mechanism of the lookalike.
2. A named payment processor visible on the payment screen. A bare card form on an unbranded page is where to stop.
3. The published price - $2,497 or six payments of $497. A different figure is a different thing.
4. The stated deadline - Thursday 24 September 2026, 11:59pm Pacific. A page selling it afterwards is not the official cart.

What an affiliate link is, since it is the thing people worry about

A tracked link to the vendor's own checkout. It does not change your price, it does not change the product, and it does not put a third party between you and the seller. The commission comes from the vendor's margin.

What it can add is a bonus package from the affiliate. That is the only difference, and it runs in your favour.

Why this matters more during a launch

Because launches generate exactly the search traffic that lookalike pages are built to catch. The volume is concentrated into a fortnight and the intent is high, which is the condition those pages exist for.

The defence is not caution in general, it is the four checks above, done once, in ten seconds.

What a lookalike page is trying to do

Two things, usually. Take a payment for something it will not deliver, or collect card details for use elsewhere. Both depend entirely on you not reading the address bar.

Which is why the defence is so cheap. One careful look at the domain defeats the entire category, and no amount of general caution substitutes for it.

The reassuring part

All four checks pass on the real thing, and they are all visible before you pay. This is a purchase you can verify in advance, which is not true of everything.
